POST NOVIKI, MEMPLEX
21.09–28.10.2018
curator: Lidia Krawczyk
venue: Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art, Exhibition Pavilion
photo documentation: StudioFilmlove
Oh public institution engaged in the dissemination of cultural knowledge, hear us out.
Oh institution in the post-artistic age, hear us out.
Curators, directors, members of the staff, have mercy on us.
Oh the Spirit of Art, hear us, for it is your brilliance that lights up the darkness.

Litany, pleas, demands, claims. Agreements, sacrifices, compromises, promises. To us, exhibiting an artwork in a gallery is a game, the rules of which are continuously in the process of being set up, unregulated by homogeneous systems. We link artistic expression with legal and financial obligations, while managing impressions, provocation, and dematerialization.
Networkers
2763 names and surnames – that’s how many people have actively cooperated with the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery since 1994. That’s with how many people we have signed various types of agreements (employment contracts, job order contracts, contracts to perform a specified task, licensing agreements). Not included in this list are those who have prepared our materials for printing, moved artworks for us, painted our walls, and took care of our guests, hosting them in their homes and offering their own cars for our guests’ transportation. Also absent from this list are those with whom we have discussed cooperation, but have never moved past the discussion phase. Finally, our audience is not on this list either.
Post Noviki, a follow-up project to the designstudio Noviki, are interested in creating an alternative framework for the exploration of graphic design as well as curatorial and exhibition practices in the post-artistic world. In their work, post-conceptualism collides with technology-based tools. Post Noviki’s characteristic feature is their openness to transdisciplinary exchange beyond the realm of the official art market. They work with various tools and media, design prints, video and virtual images, participate in panel discussions, give lectures, curate exhibitions, and conduct workshops.
